Our journey began on an infamous Tasmanian winter afternoon in
1999 when our founder, Tim Terry, unearthed Australia's very first black truffle from the rich, fertile soil of our orchard. This moment marked the inception of Tasmanian Truffles and our mark as the country’s premier producer of the black truffle. Our main man - Doug
The truffle harvest is a delicate dance of timing and skill. Leading the charge is our beloved truffle dog, Doug, a golden Labrador with a nose for the extraordinary. Doug guides us through the orchard, his senses are finely attuned to the earthy whispers of these hidden treasures. Together, we carefully unearth each truffle by hand, brushing away the soil to reveal the jewel beneath. Washed and air-dried, each truffle is then carefully sorted by experienced hands—a skill developed over years of working with these exquisite ingredients.
