1999 when our founder, Tim Terry, unearthed Australia's very first black truffle from the rich, fertile soil of our orchard. This moment marked the inception of Tasmanian Truffles and our mark as the country’s premier producer of the black truffle. Meet the Terrys - Second generation of Tasmanian Truffles

Truffles have been part of the Terry family’s story since the first black truffle was unearthed on their Deloraine property. Today, the next generation continues to grow and share Tasmania’s finest truffles with the world.

Anna Terry runs The Truffle Farm in Deloraine, overseeing production and ensuring each truffle meets the highest standards. Her expertise and dedication keep the farm thriving.

Henry Terry leads Tasmanian Truffles, taking their premium black truffles from farm to table. He focuses on delivering the most premium quality truffles and developing a range of products that showcase their rich, earthy flavours.

Together, Anna and Henry uphold their family’s business while driving the future of Tasmania’s truffle industry.

Our main man - Doug

The truffle harvest is a delicate dance of timing and skill. Leading the charge is our beloved truffle dog, Doug, a golden Labrador with a nose for the extraordinary. Doug guides us through the orchard, his senses are finely attuned to the earthy whispers of these hidden treasures. Together, we carefully unearth each truffle by hand, brushing away the soil to reveal the jewel beneath. Washed and air-dried, each truffle is then carefully sorted by experienced hands—a skill developed over years of working with these exquisite ingredients.
